BaseShape

Plan your build before the first block is placed.

BaseShape is a planning tool for Minecraft builds. You draw layer by layer in 2D, check the result in 3D, reuse parts, work out the materials and export the plan for the game.

  • Desktop app for Windows
  • A single program file, no installation
  • Interface in German and English

Features

From the first floor plan to the finished structure file

Plan in 2D

Draw layer by layer in the top view and the facades in four side views – with tools such as pen, fill, line and rectangle.

Check in 3D

Rotate the build freely, zoom in and hide layers to look inside.

Selection and hologram

Select whole areas, copy or move them and align them as a hologram before you confirm. Four-way mirroring is available too.

Reuse assets

Keep towers, roofs or machine rooms as assets and drag them from the asset bar into new projects.

Your blocks, your mods

BaseShape reads blocks, textures and shapes from your own Minecraft file and your mod files. The program contains no game files of its own and reads these files locally only. In addition, BaseShape can ask the official website about new program versions – this feature can be switched off.

Block states

Stairs face a direction, doors are open or closed, snow lies in layers. BaseShape shows these states and lets you change them deliberately.

Materials list

Every block used, with amount and stacks – for the whole project, the current layer or a selection. Export as TXT and PDF.

Import and export

Read existing structures and write your plan as a schematic for WorldEdit, Litematica or the structure block.

Verify the download

Compute the checksum of the downloaded file in PowerShell and compare it with the value above. If both match, the file is unchanged.

Get-FileHash .\BaseShape-0.1.0.exe -Algorithm SHA256

The program file is not digitally signed. Windows may therefore show a warning the first time you start it.

Switching to a new version

When a newer version is available, BaseShape shows a notice with a link to this download page. The automatic check can be switched off under “Settings → Check for Updates Automatically”; you can check by hand at any time with “Help → Check for Updates”. Nothing is downloaded or installed automatically – you switch versions by hand:

  1. Close BaseShape.
  2. Download the new program file and verify its checksum as described above.
  3. Replace your previous program file with the new one. If you like, rename the old file first to keep it as a backup.
  4. Start the new program file. Only the program file is replaced; your project files (.bss) are not touched.
